Galaxie 500 - Isn't it a Pity

Thanks to everyone who ever commented, downloaded music or just stopped by to check things out. Maybe one day I'll be back to post some new stuff. Remember to keep reading all of the other great MP3 blogs on the side bar. Take care!

i've got bedhead

Bedhead - Haywire (1994)

you want to talk about things you won't understand?
then give me your ears, put them in my hands.
give me your hands, put them over my ears
so i don't have to hear a thing i say
if it makes me think.

i can't talk about things that i don't understand
so i leave it here in empty hands
and i leave off the ink so i don't have to think
or sink that low ever again.

because my memory of what's good is leaving me.

i knew it would.

that part of me makes no sense.
that part of me is my conscience.

Roy Orbison - Crying

Rebecca Del Rio - Llorando

Off to the start of what will hopefully be only a bad week. Recently picking up Orbison’s greatest hits is not helping. Back in a while.

Dieter is his name

Moebius - Gängig

Moebius - Das Letzte

Moebius sure takes his time to put out an album. He’s like the old dudes you find sometimes when you enter a public washroom, standing in front of the urinal waiting for it to come out. And even once you’ve sanitized the seat, gone number two and washed your hands, there they remain, beating their enemy with patience. I wish I had the technology to digitize vinyl onto my comp like some of you cause then I could share something from something like this too. Ah well. Conrad and Hansie made a good move when they enlisted Moebius to join their little project back in the Kraut heyday. These songs are from Moebius's's new album Nurton. The whole thing, to me, sounds like one strange Nickelodeon acid trip. If you don’t like the trax posted then check out something from Zuckerzeit (1974). And if you don’t like those trax then I just don’t know what trax to give you. *Personal life update.* My summer job at the radio station is over, renovations are finished, first month (last year) of school is about to begin and I’m ready to wile out like it ain’t even Saturday.

once more 'round the politico-phantasmatic

what's your issue?

Crass - Asylum
Crass - Darling
Crass - Systematic Death
Crass - Sentiment (White Feathers)

Man is this blog being neglected. Too much to consider lately. Too much reading. Too much Crass. I'll add some cool (noisy) stuff really soon. Also, I came accross a truely great blog recently: wood s lot. Produced by Mark Woods, it has pointed me toward so many wonderful essays, artists, philosophers and information about what's happening in our world that I visit nearly every day.

taken from wood s lot:

This is what terror looks like
Lebanon - Looking through the fog of war
youtube: Runtime 30 Minutes

This perfect democracy fabricates its own inconceivable enemy, terrorism. It wants, actually, to be judged by its enemies rather than by its results. The history of terrorism is written by the State and it is thus instructive. - Guy Debord, Comments on the Society of the Spectacle

-------------------------------------------------------------------

For another insightful critique of Western democracy and its link to terrorism see Jean Baudrillard's The Spirit of Terrorism.

I am going to start a very different blog, very soon.

dance dyslexic

10LEC6 - Bla Bla Bla

10LEC6 - Wolf Tooth

10LEC6 - She Told Me I Love U Fuck Off

Lately I've just been wanting to dance, and 20 Jazz Funk Greats always come through in that department. No, it's not like tanned bodies dancing on a glossy black floor with high tech lighting. It's more like dirty carpets in dingy basements with a crowd of weirdos. The XXJFG peeps have been talking non-stop about 10LEC6 and when they talk non-stop about anything I always take the time to check it out. So it's no suprise that 10LEC6 is repeatedly gracing my speakers. Their mix of faux-African beats atop bratty French girl attitude is hitting me in all the right places. So here's the three tracks that have already been circulated, but go and buy the album too.
